We have several approaches to construction, each tailored to the clients’ individual needs:
General Construction – describes the traditional method of delivering construction services. In this approach, a general contractor is independently hired to perform a defined scope of construction. This method is effective for clients who prefer traditional delivery methods and already have a complete set of drawings and specifications. This method works well for simple projects without sensitive time constraints and complex design.
Design/Build – in this approach, the general contractor serves as the single-point of responsibility for all aspects of project procurement and creates a smoother more efficient process from design to completion. This approach works best for clients seeking to shift responsibility risk from procurement to the contractor; wanting to leverage the creativity combined experience and efficiency of construction and valued engineering guidance; and looking for comprehensive guidance from a team of professionals. We strive to perfect the building process with our design/build method. One single-source partner, one contract, one point of responsibility.
Construction Management – in this progressive approach the client hires a construction manager to guide a project from preliminary design to completion, bringing a professional management strategy to all phases of a project. This approach works best for clients interested in reducing costs through lowered contingencies; seeking expertise for all phases of construction; and clients interested in improved team communication and coordination. With knowledge of the Owners' goals, Allen & Laporte will continually implement innovative solutions to carefully balance time, quality and cost throughout all phases of the design and construction. We maintain open communication to respond to our clients’ needs and concerns and are committed to the success of the project.
Allen & Laporte maintains an excellent reputation and relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Many of our subcontractors and suppliers perform work on repeat projects for us. Our buying power, long history and strong working relationships give us an edge in pricing and constructing each project.
Important aspects that we incorporate in every project are scheduling, to keep existing owner’s operations uninterrupted as much as possible; delivery of projects on time and as promised; budgeting, cost control, quality control and continual review of ways to value engineer projects.
Safety - Common sense principals form our safety philosophy. Safety means good business and starts with management. Employees are key and all injuries are preventable. Through inspections, meetings and training, employees and subcontractors are informed and educated on correct safety procedures. We are dedicated to being the best.
